InBody – instructions for self service body composition test
Measurement is prohibited if any of the following applies
- You have medical implanted device, such as pacemaker, or essential support device such as patient monitoring system
- Pregnancy
- Any kind of contagious disease or infection
- Tights, prosthetic limb or anything that prevents skin contact to sole or palm
Minimum age for self service testing is 18 years.
How to prepare for measurement
- Make sure that your clothing weighs about 0,5 kg. That’s the tare that has been set to the InBody device for clothing.
- If needed, use the bathroom before testing
- Do not eat before testing. If you have already eaten, the test should be put off for at least two hours after the meal
- Do not do physical exercise shortly before testing
- Women’s tests are recommended to be scheduled outside menstrual periods
- To get the result sheet in English, place an English sheet to the printer before the test. The guiding language of the InBody device is Finnish, but you can complete steps following these instructions.
Taking the InBody Test
1. Take off your shoes, socks and heavy clothing. Empty your pockets if needed (tare setting, -0,5kg).
2. Take the disinfectant InBody Tissue and wipe your palms and soles. Wipe also the contact surfaces of the InBody device before stepping on.
3. Open the InBody device screen with the passcode that is visible in the next page.
4. Place your heels on the rear electrodes. Stand still until the device hasmeasured your weight.
5. After the weight has been measured, leave ID-field empty and choose ‘Vierasmittaus’ (Guest Test). The measurement data will not be saved to the device. Next, enter your height (Pituus), age (Ikä), and gender (Sukupuoli) by using the touch screen orthe buttons. Finally, press ‘Enter’ to perform the test
5. Follow the instructions / animations on the InBody device screen. Take a light grip of the handles as shown in the picture. Keep your arms straight. Your arms must not touch the sides of your body. When the hand and foot electrode contact is recognized, the InBody test begins automatically.
6. Stand still and quiet during the test. When the test is completed (100% appearson the screen), put the handles back down and step off from the device.The InBody result sheet will be printed automatically after a few seconds.

By acquiring the access code you confirm you have understood and will follow these instructions. The code should be acquired individually by every person measuring themselves.
